Steak au Poivre

Although this recipe was planned in advance, an online shopping mishap meant that we had a lot more steak for it than we were anticipating. It’s a really easy recipe this one (from How To Eat) – grind some peppercorns and rub them into steaks which have been brushed with olive oil.

Seal the meat and then fry for a few minutes on each side. To serve, deglaze the pan with some marsala and butter. We also had some jacket potatoes and peas on the side.

It’s a simple classic – easy to cook, hard to get wrong, and impossible not to enjoy.
